Muri
Beach is one of the most beautiful parts of Rarotonga,
courtesy of a stunning view across turquoise waters
on to coconut palm-covered islands.
It
has a lovely beach, which is perfect for swimming, and
in the far distance you see ocean breakers rolling on
to the coral atoll that protects it.
Rarotonga's
lagoon is at its widest at Muri and this allows for
an excellent array of water sports and adventure activities
there.
Captain
Tama's Lagoon Cruises is based at Muri, as well as Ariki Adventiures - who offer Sea Scooters, kayaking and Stand-up Paddleboarding.
You
can parasail, sailboard, snorkel, kayak or swim to your
heart's content in relative safety at Muri.
The
wind can pick up at times, but usually the waters are
reasonably calm.
There are a huge number of places to eat at Muri, which has become the tourist magnet of Rarotonga.
Muri
Beach offers plenty of accommodation from budget and
self-catering accommodation to resort rooms. - Richard
