Once
again Weber Brothers Circus has come up with a winning formula for
a successful circus show with its latest offering La Jester.
Magic
is once again to the fore as the performers take you back into Medieval
times and the court of King Arthur.
The
king is being entertained by his Jester when a rather annoyed Black
Knight shows up and so takes away laughter in the land and gives
it to the Bolligog of Thunder Pass.
This
makes the king angry and he blames the Jester and decides to exile
him until he brings back the people’s laughter.
The
Jester and his mate Dumdum set off through the Forest of Unnamed
Horrors and eventually discover Wonderland where they meet characters
from Alice in Wonderland. They also find the Bolligog.
La
Jester is first-rate circus entertainment with a vast array of talented
performers who will thrill kids and adults alike.
One
of the highlights of the show is the Globe of Death where up to
three motorbike riders whizz around a steel globe at full pelt.
At one stage one of the female performers enters the globe with
two motorbikes zooming around only centimetres from her.
The
high-wire and ribbon work was also a stand-out with the acrobats
performing wonderfully graceful aerial dances.
There
is also plenty of humour, mainly courtesy of the jester himself
and a ratty lady who is determined to join the show as a horserider.
This poor fellow copped a swinging handbag from her hen-pecked husband!
