This
unusual timepiece is known as the Sundial of Human Involvement.
It uses a series of fixed points around an elipse and then
it takes a person standing onthe right day and month within
a figure eight on a brass slab to point out the time. Don't
know how, but it works! This one is at Wellington's Carter
Observatory at Kelburn.
