I
don't know what they put in the water at architect's school in Melbourne,
but it has produced an amazing new style of cityscape in the great
city.
Strolling
around central Melbourne our attention was constantly grabbed by
buildings that seemed to have taken the traditional design method,
given it a shakeabout and come up with an astounding structure.
There
are buildings with rippled edges, curved external skeletons, angles
where before there would have been flat lines and balconies and
open areas hidden within jagged holes in walls.
One
of the most amazing designs is the RMIT University which, it has
to be said, is just jaw dropping.
As
said I know very little about the technical side of buildings, but
my eyes know what I like and Melbourne provides plenty of subjects
to gaze at.
